heyNIgh is part of a project sponsored by The Big Deal Programme for Children and Young People In Northern Ireland.
The residential weekend will take place in The SHARE Village in Enniskillen on Friday 28-30th March. It will involve many outdoor activities including kayaking, archery, rock-climbing, laser-skirmishing, pottery, tshirt printing plus games and entertainment.
The aim of the weekend is to follow on from our successful event in Out in the O-zone on 24th November 2007. We listened to the feedback for the day and the result was heyNIgh! And if this weekend is as successful, and if you all want, it could be the first of many annual residentials involving all of the groups and individuals! Sounds good eh?
Members, staff and volunteers from all the major LGBT Youth Groups have been invited, including a special invitation to Belong To in Dublin. The invitation is open to individuals not currently involved in the groups, as long as they identify as LGBT or Curious/Questioning and are between 16-25 years old.
We hope for everyone to be at the location for 8pm on Friday evening, and will be closing on the Sunday at 3pm.
Any groups with difficulty in arranging their own transport should contact GLYNI so that we can get something sorted. Possibilities for this will be putting on a bus from Belfast, Newry/Down and L’Derry areas, if practical. All transport costs will be covered by The Big Deal and should be invoiced accordingly, quoting the name of the residential and GLYNI.
Details regarding the accommodation arrangements will be sent to the staff/volunteers in advance, along with information on required clothing for the activities where necessary.
