The Next NRC Disco in the Brass Monkey in Newry on the 4th of February marks Passion’s Fifth Birthday. Quite an achievement in a small city such as ours and credit must go to the friendly management and staff at the Brass Monkey for allowing us to use their excellent venue as well as all the hard workers within the NRC who month in month out set up and run the night on a voluntary basis.

To mark the milestone Passion will be held a week later on Saturday the 4th of February so there will be no 28th of January Disco. (more…)

The Newry Rainbow Community participated in the Dublin Pride parade a few weeks back and will have a float in the Belfast Pride parade next Saturday. At both these parades, and at Pride events and parades around the World one symbol in particular will be very prominent. (more…)

A group of us from the Newry Rainbow Community this week went to see the Play Beautiful Thing staged locally by The Company Youth Theatre and The Rainbow Factory. The Play is the Stage presentation of the feel good film of the same name and was absolutely brilliantly done. It’s a gay story line where two young lads fall in love with each other and we experience first hand their difficulty ‘coming out’ and accepting who they are as well as all the other background issues happening their families.
