With Spring on everyone’s mind and hopes that the sun will actually make an appearance the NRC are taking to the road and forming the Newry Rainbow Community Cycling Club.

If you have been meaning to get yourself back to fitness or just want to come along for a bit of craic, it’s for you. Experienced cyclist Padraig Lynch is at the helm and he hopes to foster a renewed interest in cycling, and help people get healthier as well as giving members of our community another alternative social outlet. “Many people aren’t into pubs and clubs, preferring a quieter less intense place to meet new people and this is for them, as well as anyone who just wants to get that little bit fitter.” Don’t think it is only for seeious cyclists either. It’s open to everyone from the seasoned biker to the person who hasn’t been on a bike in years. In fact if you haven’t been on a bike in years, now is the time to dust it down.

All you need is a bicycle and a helmet would be a good idea too. The group will meet on Thursday nights at 7pm and on Saturday mornings at 9.30am outside Newry Sports Centre on Patrick Street so why not get on your bike and get down there this Saturday! Who know it could be the start of a completely new you.
